As well as the rhino beetle there is also the slightly more cuter ‘dung beetle’ which you can find in Addo National Elephant Park in the Eastern Cape! Never seen an ‘ant lion’ but have made it a mission to see if i can find one on my next travels.

I also found the ant lions really haunting but yes the shrews are really cute. I was talking infestations (as you do) with a friend the other day: rats, mice, roaches and she said they’d had a shrew infestation but it was hard to kick the little blighters out as they’re so cute – then she found one curled up asleep on the bed, imagine how adorable that looked!

Ditto what Becki said. Those ant lions DO look terrifying. Like the slaves of spiders.

On the other hand, I would like to request an army of elephant shrews that can come and snuggle with me RIGHT NOW.
